Malibu
Dog Adoptions (formerly in partnership with Malibu Pet Companions) is
made up of a group of dedicated volunteers committed to preventing the
suffering and loss of life to some of the most forgotten members of our
community: sick, injured and abandoned pets.
Our focus is not only on homeless pets found in our local shelters, but also those that are sick and injured...those who would perish without our aid.
In the last year, over 200 sick and injured pets were saved from our local shelters and streets by MDA. We medicate and help heal these animals, spay/neuter them, find them temporary shelter and, ultimately, place healthy pets into new, loving and permanent homes.
Pet adoption events are a priority. We hold our own dog adoptions in Malibu as well as collaborate with other adoption events hosted by national rescue organizations such as Best Friends. Most of our dogs come from a special no-kill shelter located in Topanga Canyon, California, where we help provide medical care and make improvements to kenneling facilities.
